The Passing of my Mother

My mother passed away on February 22,2008. She died at the age of 51years old of a severe aneurysm/cerebral hemorrhaging. She was admitted to the ER Weds. night (Feb. 20) but slipped into a coma before undergoing brain surgery. She passed away two days later as her health quickly deteriorated and was pronounced dead on the 22nd at 5:03 AM.  We will have a memorial service for her tomarrow at her church and her burial service the next day. She is survived by 5 children (including myself) and 4 grandchildren.

My only source of comfort is that she gave her life to the Lord 4 years ago (which I was privaleged to lead to Christ by God’s good pleasure), and thus, by riding upon the merits of Another, is resting in a glorious heavenly bliss with the Blessed Savior. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!! The grace and provision that God has extended to this family is beyond belief;we serve a good God!

 Your prayers are coveted…thank you.

Jesus said unto her, I Am the resurrection, and the Life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25)

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.(1st Thess. 4:13,14)

    Sam,

I am so sorry, just know we are praying for you and your family . . . the joy and peace and life she is experiencing now is surely what allows “grief with hope”. So sorry, Sam . . . (see Is. 57:1-2)

    In Christ,

    Bobby

My arminian brother in Christ (LOL!) thank you for the prayers offered up on our behalf, the Lord has been really good to us in our time of grief and his provision has been phenomenal…great is our God and King who looks after the way of his saints! Grace and peace to you my friend.

    Bobby,

Thank you for citing Isaiah 57 for me, it was a great comfort to read. We buried my mother yesterday and trust that she is rejoicing with joy unspeakable with our God…she has run her course, she has finished her race, we must continue with ours for Christ’s sake and glory.

What a difficult thing to lose a loved one. I dread the day since both my parents are still alive (but really getting up there in age). How blessed you are to know that you will see her again someday. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

    God Bless,
    Ben
